2018 Scientific Chair
Dr. Ravindra Nanda

We have put together an exciting scientific program for the 40th reunion of College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics to be held at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Florida from July 6-10, 2018. A theme of this meeting is “Stability and Failures: New Paradigm in Successful outcomes”. As the title suggests, we are looking forward to an exciting discussion on a diverse host of clinical subjects.

We have well-established speakers as well as ‘rising stars”, who will present their experience in managing various clinical problems.

Dr. Chun-Hsi Chung will present the latest and best in managing expansion and retention of patients with transverse problems. He will be followed by Dr. Madhur Upadhyay who will discuss the latest and best in mechanics which can enhance stability and prevent failures.

On the second day, Dr. Flavio Uribe will present on how to avoid problems which can lead to failures and unnecessary side effects. Dr. Greg Huang will discuss results of his national open bite study. Open bite is indeed a problem which often has issues with stability. Dr. Sunil Kapila will give the last lecture of the day. He will show an application of 3D imaging and mechanics which can be used to manage impacted and transposed teeth.

On the third day, Dr. Won Moon will show his technique to manage expansion and retention, especially in adults without any surgical intervention. Dr. Saran Huja will discuss a contemporary hot subject related to orthodontic tooth movement and acceleration. Dr. Pat Turley will discuss Class III treatment stability and relapse, an area he has studied extensively.

On the last day, we have Dr. Valmy Kulbersh, who will discuss state of the art knowledge regarding expansion and its effect on the airway. She will be followed by Dr. Jae Park who will discuss using CBCT as a tool to effectively manage impacted canines and ankylosed teeth.

We kept the last lecture for our young and rising star Dr. Neal Kravitz who will tell us how to master retention. We look forward to seeing all of you in Florida.
